Tea strainers
In a time when tea came in loose packets, part of the tea “ritual” was to strain the leaves as tea was poured. The tea strainer came in a number of forms, either a fine mesh or small holes in the strainer. The tea strainer would have had a small dish to sit in to avoid drops of tea getting on the table cloth. In some poorer homes, the strained tea leaves could be dried and re used.
