Cup of Knowledge
Produced as a commemorative Souvenir for the Wembley Exhibition 1925.

Cup - 3 1/4 inches in diameter, 2 1/2 inches tall
Saucer - 5 1/2 inches in diameter

The 1920’s and 1930’s saw a number of cup and saucer sets produced that purported to assist divining the future by reading tea leaves. This set was made in England by Booths from Silicon China. It comes with a 31 page booklet ’A key to the Mysteries of Divination’ by Willis Mae Nicol.
The cups came in a number of colours – red, green and yellow.

The cup is decorated on the inside with playing cards and the Joker on the bottom of the cup. Around the inner rim in black text is the title ’Cup Of Knowledge’ with a scroll pattern detail. Your destiny is determined where your tea leaves rest at the end of the drink. The booklet provides an explanation as to the meaning of each card.
