Cassette Recorder/player
The problem of being able to easily move around and play the music you wanted was first solved by the use of the cassette recorder, whereby pre-recorded music could be inserted into the machine and played either on battery power or by a cord to the mains. Music tapes could be purchased or simply recorded off the radio or from other recordings. The cassette recorder was superseded by CD players, MP3 players and on line streaming.
