The Flower Show
Local gardening groups from the Titahi Bay Horticultural Society and Whitby Floral Arts will be displaying their wonderful blooms. Children’s activities included.

View the most significant areas of native bush in Porirua City. Then walk the Colonial Knob Walkway for magnificent view of the coastline.

Guided Tours of Porirua and Pauatahanui Burial Grounds
Visit the old burial grounds in Pauatahanui and Porirua City, both of which contain many heritage roses. The Pauatahanui Burial Ground is celebrating its 150th anniversary.

Gear Homestead Walk and Talk
A guided tour of the Gear Homestead, including the historic gardens, the Woolshed, Potters’ rooms, plus a talk about the house and the Gear family. 
Saturday 13 October, 1pm-4pm. The tour includes afternoon tea. Cost: $12.00

Waimapehi Stream Care Group / Pukerua Ray Residents’ Association
Secret Valley Project
Three lectures and guided walks to a native garden in the Waimapehi Stream – a rehabilitation project 10 years in the making secreted away in the centre of Pukerua. Once a rubbish dump, now a special community asset.
Sunday 9 September, Sunday 7 October, Sunday 4 November, 2pm. 

Meet at the Environmental Education Centre, The Secret Valley, Pukerua Bay.  (Come by train to the Pukerua Bay Railway Station (the walk is on the west of the station), or by car to the station carpark in Takutai Road.  The entrance sign at the top of the walkway is just north of the carpark.  Walk down a short way and you will reach the open-air Education Centre.)
