US Marines Camp

Located
within Queen Elizabeth Park, north of Paekakariki at McKays Crossing along the track from the Tramway Museum (entrance off State Highway 1) is
the memorial to the occupation by the US Marines during World War II. A small
display of wartime memorabilia is also on show at the Railway Station Museum on the platform at
Paekakariki.
