Short Story Competition
The Wellington Region Heritage Promotion Council Inc (WRHPC), invites entries for its inaugural Short Story Competition from residents of our region.
Our region incorporates Wellington, Porirua, Kapiti, Hutt Valley & Wairarapa.
Entries should be an original piece about an aspect of heritage within the region. Your story might be factual, or fiction based on a real person, an historic event, building or place.
Entries should be made easy for the Judges to assess so attention should be made to good comprehension, grammar, spelling (no text/twitter speak), punctuation etc.

There are three categories:

| Primary school pupils | Up to 500 words | Book tokens up to a value of $100 | |
| Secondary school pupils | Up to 1000 words | Book tokens up to a value of $150 | |
| Open/Senior | Up to 1000 words | Book tokens up to a value of $200 |
There are 2 parts to each entry:
On receipt, all entries will be acknowledged. One entry per person.
The judges decision is final and they may share the prize in each category between more than one entry.
You retain ownership/copyright of your entry, but you agree to allow WRHPC to publish on their website.
Entries close on 31st August
