The
Printing Works
Hands-On Introductory Workshop
These one day introductory workshops cover: selecting and hand-setting
type, preparing the type for the press, selecting your paper or card,
and printing your creation. A hands-on experience with individual
tuition from Tony King, using a press appropriate to your project. The
workshop fee of $90 includes entry to Cobblestones Museum. Workshops
are scheduled to suit you, and occupy about seven hours. Share your
ideas of what you wish to learn or print before setting a date.

Display of Photographs
An exhibition of Photographs showing past photographs of retail shops
on the High Street, Hotels, Dairy Factories, Homes etc. These show
what is happening to our old buildings in the area - what has been
destroyed by neglect, removed or just pulled down.

Railway Restoration Society
Open Day: Carterton Railway Station
The station, recently refurbished by Wairarapa Railway Restoration
Soc, features memorabilia dating from the 1880 opening. Steam Inc’s
vintage train arrives at 10.30am. The day coincides with the town’s
annual Daffodil Festival.
